Project Overview
Our studio was tasked with creating proposals to renovate this warehouse at 1519 Pleasant Street. We worked hand in hand with the staff of Over-The-Rhine Community Housing and held regular collaborative meetings throughout the design process. They currently use this warehouse to operate various utility operations such as HVAC, electrical, and carpentry services. Since the staff would still use the space to operate out of during the renovation process, I decided to implement different phases of construction. This allows staff to still serve the community and carry out their duties while their workplace is being improved.
Background
This project was completed during my Residency Program in Over-The-Rhine. It was done on an individual basis. Miami University's Center For Community Engagement allowed us opportunities to form connections with various community members and encouraged them to participate in the design process. The knowledge and connections gained during this program are invaluable.
